The "Human Impact Research" (HIR) inter-university research center, established in 2018 by the University of Perugia and the "Sophia" University Institute (https://www.sophiauniversity.org/), develops research activities, training and dissemination on the civil, social and environmental economy. The HIR center also aims to accompany businesses, public entities and the third sector organizations, in the consolidation of ethical and sustainable activities and processes, mainly oriented towards the objectives of the UN Agenda 2030 for Sustainable Development, also through support for start-up creation.

The Director of the center is prof. Massimiliano Marianelli, full professor of History of Philosophy at the Department of Philosophy, Social Sciences, Humanities and Education of the University of Perugia, assisted by a Board and a Technical-scientific committee.

For its activity, the HIR center makes use of Laboratories and Research groups.

The administrative headquarter is at the Department of Philosophy, Social, Human and Educational Sciences of the University of Perugia.
